Qi is vital energy, or vital force that is inherent in all living things. Qi provides the energy necessary for growth, development, and maintenance to strengthen and protect the body from illness and disease. Qi comes from the food we eat, the air we breathe, and is inherited from our parents at birth that makes our natural constitution.
Qi flows through the body along 12 major energy pathways known as meridians or channels. The meridians allow qi to flow throughout the body in order to nourish and support our vital tissues, organs, and glands. Illness or pain results when the energy flow is blocked or stagnant.
When qi is balanced, moving, and flowing freely, the natural healing abilities of the body are awakened—nourishing the body and its vital organs, attaining optimum health and harmony.
